The amount of time spent watching online video grew roughly 46% in April compared to the year prior, according to comScore’s April 2012 online video viewership figures. On average, Internet video viewers watched about 21.8 hours last month. The number of video ads viewed online also rose in April to to 9.5 billion—a 14% rise from the 8.3 billion ads viewed in March.
Where is all the video viewership coming from? Primarily YouTube which was ranked as the top online video content property in April with 157.7 million unique viewers. While YouTube has the most video views, Hulu tops the charts for delivering the most video ads at 1.6 million. In all, Americans viewed 9.5 billion video ads in April.
